Nepal dreaming!

Namche Bazaar

In no particular order here are some recent cuts from friends and contacts in Nepal.

Any one for Everest Base camp?

This is how it looks but not always like this. It depends on the weather. This was our Nov trek last year. Anyone still want to take advantage of their holiday clock. www.journeysnepal.com

A possible Tour Operator to help with your Adventure!

Chandra Niraula of Nepal Travel and Tour has been waxing about Namche Bazaar. He says of it:

A Village in Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone of north-eastern Nepal. It is located within the Khumbu area at altitudes of 3440 metres / 11286 feet on its own inroute to Everest Base Camp or Everest regions other Climbing or Adventure trip.

He also speaks of Syangboche Airport at 3750 meters / 12303 feet. The airstrip is the closest to Mount Everest and Everest Base Camp

This airstrip is still in use, but mainly in the mornings when the weather conditions are more stable. Pilatus PC-6 Porter planes can be chartered to this airstrip from Lukla, a 5 minutes flight, for around $US500.

A light video taster of Nepal?

A Robin Pogorzelski film ‘Chasing Lights In The Himalayas’ that shows the incredible beauty of the country, and wets your appetite for the culture.

Comments on video after only 1 week since it was published Include:
“That was insane”
“Gorgeous!! The opening mesmerize me in so many level!”
“Absolutely breath-taking”

If your thinking about Nepal as a next trip be sure to spend just 2:45 minutes to watch.

Nomadic Samuel’s Nepal Travel Guide

So for something more substantial find time for a watch of Nomadic Samuel’s Nepal Travel Guide, at 49:40 you need to make a coffee and sit back but it is definitely a good watch!

Focussing on Kathmandu and Pokhara, it covers things to do, attractions, visiting temples and markets and most importantly an insight on the food.

But of course for many Nepal is about hiking and unfortunately these guys didn’t make it this time around.

Finally a quote from the description on YouTube:

We’d come back again to Nepal (नेपाल) in a heartbeat.

  1. You’re to kind. No not in Nepal, its on the bucket list, but that’s on hold for a bit, as work, kids and wife have all my time 🙁
In case you guys might be interested to ‘guest post’ on Adventurebods or syndicate any articles concerning travel-health etc, I have switched the role/permissions on your accounts “ESCAPEmedic” and “Philippa-Hardy” to Author – such post would be very welcome, feel free. As things go forward we are intending to have a sub-menu under each destination – perhaps one of these can link directly to “destination related health posts”. Anyway thanks for calling in.
